BUZZ // Taylor Swift Breaks Spotify Record After Releasing New Album Last Week
Taylor Swift's latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," has shattered Spotify's record for the most streams in a single day, the streaming platform announced.
Released on Friday, the highly anticipated album sparked excitement among Swift's fanbase worldwide.
Featuring 31 tracks, the album delves deep into Swift's emotions, showcasing her heartbreak and hinting at unresolved feelings towards past partners.
While the initial 16 tracks were released as planned at 5 am UK time, an additional 15 tracks followed shortly after, providing fans with ample material to immerse themselves in and leaving music journalists spinning.
Describing the album as a collection of new works reflecting a moment in time filled with both sensationalism and sorrow, Swift declared that chapter of her life closed.
She stated, "The past is behind me. There's no need for retaliation once wounds have healed. After we've told our saddest stories, we can let them go."
Swift announced her 11th studio album during her performance at the Grammy Awards in February.
The album features tracks such as "So Long, London," speculated to be about her former partner, British actor Joe Alwyn, with whom she spent six years, including a period in London where he resided.
Another track, "But Daddy I Love Him," is believed to address the public speculation surrounding Swift's alleged but unconfirmed relationship with The 1975's lead singer, Matty Healy, last year, according to BBC reports.

The bass lines bring a sense of déjà vu, but in the same instance, open up freshness towards a musical journey.
